Maintaining overall health during retirement requires reliable access to specialized care. The Insurance and Benefits Trust of PORAC (IBT) addresses this need by offering robust dental and vision insurance plans tailored for Retiree Associate Members (RAM). These programs ensure that members receive high-quality care through established networks while maximizing cost savings.
Dental Coverage Excellence
The IBT provides dental insurance administered by Delta Dental, a leader in oral healthcare. Retiree Associate Members have the flexibility to choose between HMO and PPO dental plans. The PPO option offers a vast network of stable, high-quality dentists, while the HMO plan provides structured, predictable costs. Members are encouraged to review the Evidence of Coverage (EOC) for both plans to determine which structure best suits their family’s needs. Detailed benefit highlights and current rates are available to ensure transparency before enrollment.
Premium Vision Benefits
Vision care is administered through VSP, offering comprehensive coverage for eye exams, frames, and lenses. For RAM members, vision and dental coverage must generally be purchased together, creating a holistic approach to wellness. Active employees whose associations have opted into the IBT-sponsored plan also benefit from essential vision services designed for the modern workforce.
Exclusive VSP Value-Add Programs
Beyond standard exams, VSP offers unique perks to PORAC members:
- Frame Allowance: Members receive an additional $20 toward frames when selecting from VSP’s Featured Frame list.
- Eyeconic.com: This platform allows members to sync their VSP plan for a seamless in-network online shopping experience for glasses and contacts.
- Hearing Health: Through a collaboration with TruHearing, members can save up to 60% on hearing aids and related services.
